The Temple Tool Co. Folding Pull Saw, also known as a "Butterfly Saw," combines the cutting performance of a traditional Japanese pull saw with the portability needed for shop work, installations and jobsites. Its folding double-edge design protects the blade during transport while keeping a full-size cutting tool close at hand. With dedicated crosscut and rip-cut teeth, this hand saw for wood handles dimensional lumber, trim, plywood, plastics and joinery with the versatility to move from the workshop to the jobsite.
Named after the famous butterfly knife, the saw's folding handle design allows one-handed opening and closing while enclosing the blade when not in use. At just 9" long when folded, it stores easily in a tool belt, apron pocket or toolbox without sacrificing cutting capacity. Opened, the 8.25" blade provides the reach needed for common carpentry and woodworking tasks.
The SK85 Japanese steel blade features impulse-hardened teeth for long-lasting sharpness and efficient cutting performance. An 8 TPI rip-cut edge powers through cuts along the grain while the 14 TPI crosscut edge leaves clean cuts across the grain. Deep gullets help clear waste quickly, allowing fast, controlled cutting in softwoods, hardwoods and plastic materials. The lightweight design reduces carry weight while maintaining the cutting efficiency needed for daily use.
